Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik has conferred the Oman Military Order (Second Class) to the seconded Chief British Officer.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, bestowed the Oman Military Order (Second Class) on Major General Felix Gidney, the seconded senior British officer.
The Order was presented by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, during His Highness’s reception today in his office the Major General Staff, the seconded Chief British Officer, to bid farewell on the occasion of the end of his work duties.
His Highness the Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs thanked the seconded senior British officer for the efforts he made in strengthening bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom, wishing him continued success. For his part, the seconded senior British officer praised the strength of the relations between the two friendly countries. He also expressed his pride and appreciation for the cooperation he received during his work in the Sultanate of Oman.
The honouring ceremony was attended by His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser Al Zaabi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defence, and Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces.
