Ghana: The late Kofi Annan made his final journey home to Ghana on Monday where the former UN Secretary General's body will receive a state funeral on Thursday.

Annan died in Switzerland, aged 80, in August and will receive a full state funeral on Thursday (September 13).

His wife Nana Maria Annan, and children and grandchildren, were met off the plane by Ghana's President Nana Akufo Addo. After a brief ceremony, soldiers changed the U.N. flag over the casket for the national colors, before transferring the coffin to a hearse.
