Muscat: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation unveiled yesterday , during a press conference, the details of the 1st edition of “Oman Innovation Festival”. The event will be held during the period from 5 to 10 February 2024 at Innovation Park Muscat.
Dr. Saif Abdullah Al Hadabi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation for Research and Innovation said that the festival aims at stimulating activities among the fields of research, public sector, private sector and the society.
He added that the festival is a component of the National System for Research and Innovation. The event will be catered for those interested in innovation on all levels.
Al Hadabi noted that Oman Innovation Festival aims at increasing awareness on the culture of research and innovation and its importance, providing a common space for the gathering of innovators and supporting entities (public and private), as well as holding training courses in various fields related to innovation.
In her turn, Najah Mohammed Al Rashidi, Director General of the Innovation Center, CEO of the Executive Committee for Oman Innovation Festival said that the festival is expected to attract as many as 3,000 visitors daily and over 1,000 beneficiaries in training courses and workshops.
She added that the festival will include a discussion panel that will highlight challenges facing the innovation system and possible solutions, as well as a panel on the transformation to a knowledge-based economy and investing in the field of innovation. -ONA
