Dispute led to Rustaq murder: Royal Oman Police

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has revealed that a dispute between two citizens was the cause behind the murder that took place in Rustaq.
According to ROP, the dispute “between the two friends” took place on Thursday in the morning.
An ROP official told the Times of Oman, “A dispute between two Omanis, who were friends, occurred on Thursday morning. The accused hit his friend on the head with a blunt object, which led to his death. He then threw the body on the side of the road in Jammah area in the Wilayat of Rustaq to make it seem like he was run over by a vehicle. The accused was arrested in less than 48 hours.”
The official added, “The Department of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations under the command of the South Al Batinah Governorate Police arrested the suspect."
Legal procedures are currently underway, ROP added.
