Gaza: Oman's Foreign Minister, Iraqi counterpart stress importance of self-restraint

Muscat: Oman's Foreign Minister, His Excellency Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi, received a phone call today from His Excellency Dr Fouad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the  Republic of Iraq.

During the call, the two sides discussed the disturbing developments and the dangerous escalation in the Red Sea region and Yemen. They stressed the importance of self-restraint to avoid expanding the circle of conflict in the region and addressing its causes, starting with stopping the Israeli aggression and the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip.

Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi, Oman's Foreign Minister, said in a post on the X platform: “We are deeply concerned by US / U.K. attack on targets in Yemen. This goes against our advice and will only fuel an extremely dangerous situation. I urge all parties to exercise restraint and focus on a ceasefire in Gaza now.”
