Oman transport: National Ferries Company’s maiden ferry service to Iran from today

Khasab: National Ferries Company (NFC) will launch Khasab – Qeshm route on Thursday, marking the beginning of its operations at the regional level. There will be journeys between Khasab Port in the Governorate of Musandam and Bahman Port in Qeshm Island in Iran.
Qeshm Island will be the first regional destination for the Omani ferries. More destinations will be added in the upcoming period namely Bahonar Port in Bandar Abbas and Chabahar Port.
Ghazi bin Abdullah Al Zedjali, NFC Marketing and Communications Manager said that the official launch of the route between Khasab Port and Bahman Port in Qeshm Island marks the first destination outside Oman.
He added that the move comes as part of the company’s efforts to activate Ashgabat Convention, which the Sultanate joined as per the Royal Decree No. 108/2011.
He affirmed that the company has dedicated all its efforts to launch this national project, which is one of the achievements that coincides with the Sultanate’s celebration of the Blessed Renaissance Day.
