Muscat: The Market capitalisation of listed securities on the Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) rose during the week’s trading to OMR23.81 billion recording weekly gains of OMR92.2 million.
The trading value rose in the week to OMR26.40 million compared to OMR22.50 million in the previous week with the number of transactions executed increasing from 3,950 deals to 6,855 deals, registering an increase of 73 percent.
This increase came as a result of investors’ interest in buying shares of OQ Gas Networks, which will hold on Sunday, the ordinary general meeting to discuss the distribution of cash dividends worth 7.6 baisas per share. The number of transactions executed on OQ Gas Networks shares in the week reached 5,025 transactions, equivalent to 73.3 percent of the total number of transactions executed during the week, and the share price closed at its previous level of 155 baisas, with the trading value of the share reaching OMR6.87 million, representing 18.4 percent of the total trading value.
The prices of 35 securities rose in the week compared to 21 securities whose prices declined, and 16 securities stabilised at their previous levels.
