Muscat: The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Curriculum Development, and Al Suwadi Energy Company, signed an agreement on Tuesday to support the 3D printer initiative for the tenth grade in information technology.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Yahya Al Harithi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Curriculum Development, and Abdullah Al Rawahi, CEO of the company, in the presence of Dr. Afaf Al Lawati, Director of the Applied Sciences Curricula Development Department, and Hamdoun Al Rashidi, Director of Social Affairs at the company.
The signing of the agreement took place at the Ministry’s General Diwan.
The agreement aims to introduce students to 3D printer technology and its importance in the local and global economy, as it is one of the main technologies in the future.
The agreement also aims at instilling values and principles, developing the skills necessary for entrepreneurship, and integrating the subject with student projects.
It will help them to deal with 3D printers and contribute to learning the technical and commercial aspects of this technology, and change their outlook on future professions.
