Indian film fully shot in Oman  to hit theatres on January 5

Muscat: ‘Raastha’, the first international movie in Malyalam, which has been completely shot in Oman, will hit the movie screens on January 5.

The theme of the movie is set in the backdrop of the Rub Al Khali desert, which is ten times the size of southern Indian state of Kerala. It depicts a heart-wrenching story of a girl who travels to the Gulf to find her mother. Many Omani citizens have also acted in the movie.

Directed by Aneesh Anwar, the highly anticipated survival thriller film ‘Raastha’ has actors like Sarjano Khalid, Anagha Narayanan, Aaradhya Ann, Sudheesh, Irshad Ali, T.G. Ravi, and Anish Anwar. The film has been produced by Linu Sreenivas under the banner of ALU Entertainments.

In a press conference organised at Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the crew of the movie shared their rich experience of shooting in Oman and the story which is based on real previous incidences.

During the press conference, the Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, expressed deep satisfaction and excitement upon knowing that the movie was completely shot in Oman and how it showcases the beauty of Oman.

The Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry praised the director Aneesh Anwar and the entire crew for the film shooting in Oman. Making a film in the desert is not an easy task, he said, adding that the next movie would probably be shot in the city. Exhorting everyone to watch the movie, he said that he will also go with his family to watch the film.

While sharing his experiences, Humaid Al Amri, Chairman of Oman Film Society, said the movie will give a boost to Oman entertainment industry and will inspire more movie makers to come to Oman and shoot movies here.

Abdul Latheef Uppala, the owner of ALU Entertainments, Board Member of Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Managing Director of Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals said that the story of the movie motivated him to consider it as it is based on true facts and how it showcases the true nature and culture of Oman.

He said that he felt his responsibility to contribute to the promotion of entertainment and tourism industry of Oman and this movie is one such step in this direction.

While talking to media Aneesh Anwar, Director of the movie shared his experience of shooting movie in Oman and how the authorities and local people supported them.

He said he will recommend to the Indian film industry to choose Oman as a favourable destination for shooting movies.

Penned by Shahul and Faiz , ‘Raastha’ promises an enthralling cinematic experience with its gripping story, screenplay, and dialogues. Vishnu Narayanan handles the cinematography, while Avin Mohan Sithara contributes the musical score, ensuring a captivating auditory journey.

Edited by Aftar Anwar, ‘Raastha’ boasts of a stellar performances complemented by the artistic direction of Venu Thopil.

The film features outstanding songs sung by Vineeth Srinivasan, Alphonse Joseph, Suraj Santhosh, and Avin Mohan Sithara.

The ensemble behind the scenes includes Premlal Pattazhi for cinematography, Rajesh Nenmara for makeup, A.B. Jub for sound design, Liju Prabhakar as colourist, and Qasim Muhammad Al Sulaimi overseeing VFX at Fox.Media.
