Muscat: It is expected that an official holiday will fall on Thursday, January 11, 2024, in the Sultanate of Oman on the occasion of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik assuming the reins of power according to the Royal Decree No. 88/2022.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik had issued on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 a Royal Decree No 88/2022 fixing official holidays. Article 1 of the Decree stated that official holidays for units of the State’s Administrative Apparatus, public legal entities and establishments of the private sector with regard to Eids and other occasions listed below shall be fixed as follows:
1-Hijri New Year’s Day to be on 1 Muharram.
2-The Prophet’s Birthday to be on 12 Rabee Al Awwal.
3-Al Isra’a Wal Miraj to be on 27 Rajab.
4-The National Day to be on 18 and 19 November.
5- His Majesty the Sultan’s Accession Day on January 11.
If any of the days of the weekly off coincides with the abovementioned holidays, it shall be compensated by a single day. The dates of the abovementioned holidays may be amended if public interest so dictates.
