7.8 magnitude earthquake recorded in Japan

Muscat: An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 was monitored in Japan Sea on Monday, January 1,2024, said the Earthquake Monitoring Centre (EMC).

The Earthquake Monitoring Centre (EMC) at Sultan Qaboos University said in a statement that an earthquake in the Japan Sea was recorded at 11:10 am MCT, at a depth of 8 KM. The earthquake was recorded 7,570 KM away from Muscat .
