Muscat: In line with its commitment to its customer-centric vision and financial inclusion, Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, upholds its leadership positioning by providing a full suite of banking services and facilities to all segments of the society to meet their diverse banking needs. The Bank extends its support to customers with visual, hearing, and physical impairments by implementing a strategic development plan to offer them different banking services and amenities. The Bank also ensures the provision of these services in the new branches it inaugurates. In this regard, Bank Muscat has taken proactive effective steps to equip its branches distributed across the Sultanate with suitable amenities and banking requirements customized to this group of customers. Bank Muscat currently owns 180 branches and services centers featuring multiple banking amenities, appropriate spatial facilities and infrastructure. These branches are also supplied with modern technologies including 11 interactive ATM machines, corridors and reception desks, designated parking spots, waiting areas, stairs and elevators, and entrances to banking institutions. In addition to this, the Bank has implemented a number of initiatives and promotional programs to improve customers’ financial awareness.
A number of Bank Muscat’s branches have 141 qualified and experienced staff who are trained to learn sign language, and 42 employees trained to serve customers with disabilities. To emphasize the Bank’s commitment to providing distinguished services to customers with disabilities and enhancing their banking experience, the Bank has prepared a full manual that states all instructions and guiding tips set for employees to comply when serving this segment of customers. The Bank also constantly ensures communicating to the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) reports illustrative of Bank Muscat’s full suite of services and amenities offered to customers with disabilities to enhance financial inclusion and allow this segment to avail these services catering their diverse needs.
