Muscat: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning today signed an agreement with the Strabag Oman company to implement preliminary tasks for the first phase of Sultan Haitham City.
To the tune of RO 7 million, the contract provides for laying down the basic infrastructure of roads, rainwater passages along the valley and developing the area adjoining the central park.
The first phase of infrastructure preparation will begin on 28 December, 2023 and continue for three months, covering an area of more than 6 million square metres. This includes levelling the rainwater course (the wadi), establishing a 1.6 million sqm central park and treating other components within a total area of 35 km.
The contract constitutes a link in a series of agreements to be signed by the ministry with partners to implement infrastructure and construction works in line with the plan set for this major urban landmark.
