Oxy Oman Hosts 2nd Edition of Oxy Ultramarathon

Muscat: Oxy Oman employees and representatives recently attended and participated in the 2nd edition of the Oxy Ultramarathon. The event was exclusively sponsored by Oxy Oman, and organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth.

The marathon event was held over a 3-day period in Wadi Al Khoudh, Muscat Governorate, with over 1100 participants turning out for the races, including Oxy employees and their families. The event consisted of a 50KM marathon, a 10KM race, and a children’s race for different age groups. The event also hosted a dedicated race for individuals with disabilities.

The closing ceremony for the 2nd Oxy Ultramarathon was held on the third day of the event under the auspices of the H.E. Azzan Qassim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism . Steven Lauver, President and General Manager of Oxy Oman, attended and represented the company at the awards ceremony.

In 2021, Oxy Oman hosted the first edition of Oxy Ultramarathon, where over 1100 participants attended the event held at Wadi Bani Auf, Al Batinah South Governorate, to encourage the community to participate in more sporting activities, and to promote Oman’s natural beauty and mountain terrain.

This sponsorship falls under Oxy Oman’s umbrella of strategic partnerships and continuous collaboration with key stakeholders, and is part of Oxy Oman’s endeavor and long-term commitment to support programs that enhance economic growth and sustainable development and that yield positive impacts in the neighboring communities.
