Teenage boy drowns in dam in Oman

Muscat: A fourteen year old Omani boy has drowned in a dam in Al Dhahirah.

Civil Defence reported on Twitter "water rescue teams from the Department of Civil Defence and Ambulance in the Al Dhahirah Governorate recovered the body of a 14 year old Omani boy who died after falling into Mahyul Dam in the wilayat of Ibri."

Civil Defence called upon citizens and residents not to swim in dams, water bodies, or anywhere else in which swimming is prohibited, "in order for such tragic events to be avoided."
