Europcar Oman hosted its 9th Edition of the Europcar Open on Friday 8th December 2023 at the Al Mouj Golf and received an overwhelming response.
The 2023 event of Europcar Open at Al Mouj Golf was partnered by Peugeot & Aston Martin, Mistal Watches and was jointly powered by Liva Insurance, Travelex -the Foreign Exchange partner, Travelpoint & Kenya Airways -the Travel partners, St. Regis & W -the Hotel partners, WHSmith- the Retail partner & Muscat Media Group- the Media partner. The tournament was also supported by Mumtaz Mahal and Woodlands.
Over 150 players participated in the event and there was a huge waiting list to get in. The Gala Evening dinner & Prize Distribution was a full house. The format was Individual Stableford & the Inter-Club Championship between 7 Golf Clubs (Al Mouj, Ras Al Hamra, Ghala, La Vie, Sifah, Dubai Hills & Royal Golf Club Bahrain) vying for the title.
The Division A Men’s Stableford Winner was Steven Johnson who won an Entry to Europcar Open Bahrain 2024, 2 Flight Tickets, two nights stay at a 5 star property & an SUV car hire for two days in Bahrain,
Division A Men’s Gross Winner was Azaan Rumhi who won a Luxury Sports watch from Mistal & 2 Nights Stay in Deluxe Sea View Room with Breakfast at St. Regis.
The Women’s Winner was Lynn Casey who won a Luxury Fashion Jewellery Set from Mistal and a Weekend Room Night in W Hotel Muscat.
The Inter-Club championship winner was Al Mouj Golf Club represented by Girish Chawla (Men’s Captain – Al Mouj Golf), Alistair Stock, Suna Jackson & Abhishek Kalla and each winner received a Gift Hamper from WH Smith & Friday Brunch vouchers from Mumtaz Mahal & Woodlands.
The event was graced by a number of high profile guests including His Excellency’s Indonesian Ambassador and Philippines Ambassador & Charge d’Affaires of the Singapore Embassy.
The event was also attended by Rishi Khimji – Managing Director of Asha Enterprises LLC, Mundhir Al Barwani – Chairman & Ahmed Jhdhamy – Director of the Oman Golf Association.
We were also delighted to have esteemed guests from Bahrain including Sattam Al Gosaibi – Vice Chairman, Nasser Al Jalahma – Board Member & Juan Fuentes – General Manager of the Royal Golf Club Bahrain.

Another highlight of the event was Ben Stow – European Tour Player, who was seen competing with the participants at the Beat the Pro competition. The participants were thrilled and enthusiastic while competing against Ben Stow pushing themselves to their limits and striving to outdo him.
