Oman to establish national DNA database, ROP announces

Muscat: Royal Oman Police (ROP) has signed an agreement with a German company to establish a national database for DNA, it was announced on Monday.
In online statement, ROP said, "Lt. Gen Hassan bin Mohsen Al Shraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs has signed an agreement on Monday morning to establish a national database for DNA (Yaqeen)."
The signing of the agreement was attended by Gen. Sulaiman bin Mohammed al-Harthy, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs, a number of senior officers at the ROP and officials from the German company that is implementing the project.
