Oman wins WHO award for combating non-communicable diseases

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has received the Excellence Award for the year 2023 from the World Health Organization (WHO) for combating non-communicable diseases.

The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Health, received the Excellence Award for the year 2023 from the World Health Organization for its tireless and continuous efforts in combating non-communicable diseases to reach the sustainable development goals.

This achievement represents an important addition to the series of global achievements achieved by the Ministry of Health in the Sultanate of Oman in various health fields, which highlight the extent of development it is witnessing in light of the renewed renaissance, and the great interest that the government pays in all areas of development to be in the ranks of developed countries.

The award was presented by His Excellency Dr. Jean Jabour, representative of the World Health Organization office in the Sultanate of Oman, and Dr. Badriya bint Mohsen Al Rashidiya - Director General of Primary Health Care.
