Muscat: “In honour of the Green Hydrogen Summit Oman, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Sultanate of Oman is organising various side events with the aim to facilitate cooperation and knowledge-sharing between Dutch and Omani companies in the field of green hydrogen, said Stella Kloth, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Sultanate of Oman..
"In the afternoon of 12 December, a special edition of the recurring Energy Majlis will take place that will cover the topic of the global and European global hydrogen trade environment and the role of Oman within this. The majlis will also zoom in on the perspective of Port of Sohar on this and how it envisions hydrogen to play a role in its own decarbonisation strategy. On the evening of 12 December, a networking reception will be organised for the Dutch and Omani business community at the Crowne Plaza OCEC," added the ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
"At these events and the Green Hydrogen Summit itself, Dutch businesses from the strategic hydrogen consortium called “Partners in International Business” (PiB) will take part. This PiB is focusing on the Gulf region and specifically Oman to exchange experiences and explore future investments in the country. Together, this consortium represents the whole hydrogen value chain, offering innovative solutions and extensive knowledge to solve the energy challenges of today and the future.
"The most important pillars of the Dutch hydrogen import strategy are the development of import-export corridors and creating the conditions to get the hydrogen market off the ground, such as technology development, setting standards and regulation. The collaboration on green energy offers opportunities for both the Omani and Dutch business community. Whereas Omani companies offer extensive experience in the energy sector, Dutch companies can contribute with novel green technologies.”
