Muscat: Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information will preside over the ceremony for announcement of the results of the Competition of His Majesty the Sultan’s Cup for Youth for the Sports Season 2021/2022, today.
The competition culminates the efforts accorded for achievement of an integrated vision supportive to the sports, intellectual and cultural activities which contributes to enhancement and development of the concept of voluntary work for athletes of all sports clubs.
This edition of the competition has seen the participation of 42 clubs which are Bahla, Dhofar, Majis, Jalan, Al Nahda, Muscat, Al Shabab, Al Musanah, Seeb, Masirah, Salalah, Oman, Saham, Al Talia’a, Al Mudhaibi, Yanqul, Dibba, Al Itifaq, Madha, Khasab, Al Wohda, Bakha, Fanja, Al Etihad, Sumail, Al Wusta, Al Arouba, Sur, Al Khaboura, Bidya, Bausher, Al Kamil Wal Wafi, Al Rustaq, Al Bashayer, Al Suwaiq, Al Salam, Ahli Sidab, Ibri, Quryat , Al Nasr, Sohar and Nizwa.
The competition aimed to achieve several goals, mainly encouraging sports to follow the highest criteria of quality, governance, planning, organisation and management.
The competition also contributes to encouragement of diversification of sources of income such as cultural sports and youth investment besides the support of athletes by provision of environment incubating them at all stages, raising awareness on the significance of the role of the clubs in the society and voluntary work coupled with the support of clubs in making available the cultural, sports and youth environment supportive to the society.
