Environment Authority eliminates over 6,000 invasive birds in North Al Batinah

Muscat :For two days in a row, the Environment Authority eliminated nearly 7,000 invasive birds in North Al Batinah Governorate.

Environment Authority said in a statement :"In continuation of the efforts of the campaign to combat invasive birds, which is organised by the Environment Authority in cooperation with the relevant government agencies and the local community, the work team in North Al Batinah Governorate was able to eliminate 6,855 invasive birds in the wilayats of Sohar, Saham, Liwa and Shinas. "

Invasive intrusive birds influence the ecosystem in a negative way. They cause biological imbalance by disrupting the natural food chains. They also transfer diseases, like bird flu, and destroy agricultural crops, fruits and orchards.
