Sayyid Fahd Arrives in Doha

Doha: HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, arrived in Doha today, heading the Sultanate of Oman’s delegation to the 44th GCC Summit.

HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, was at the head of the welcoming party of HH Sayyid Fahd upon his arrival at Hamad International Airport.

HH Sayyid Fahd was also received upon his arrival by Jassem Mohammed Al Budaiwi, GCC Secretary General, Sayyid Ammar Abdullah Al Busaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman accredited to the State of Qatar, Sheikh Jassim Abdulrahman Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Sultanate of Oman, officials of the State of Qatar and members of Oman’s embassy in Qatar.

Upon his arrival in the State of Qatar, HH Sayyid Fahd gave a press statement, reading as follows: “On the occasion of the 44th GCC Summit in the State of Qatar, it pleases me to convey the greetings of His Majesty the Sultan to his fellow leaders, along with His Majesty’s sincere wishes to the Qatari leadership and people that this summit would be successful in achieving its desired goals.

The Sultanate of Oman, in its capacity as chair of the current GCC summit, expresses great appreciation for the Gulf Council’s accomplishments in various fields, thanks to the prudent directives of GCC leaders and the cooperation of member states.

The regional arena recently witnessed many rapid developments that cast a shadow on many countries, which requires more efforts to coordinate positions and unify visions in the face of all challenges, to ensure that the peoples of the region would pursue their march of progress and prosperity in an atmosphere of calm and stability.”
