Restaurant in Muscat closed due to rat infestation

Muscat: A restaurant in Muscat Governorate was closed after a video circulated of a rat eating cooked chicken inside a grill machine.

Muscat municipality said: “The specialists from the Health Control Department ⁧‫in Muscat Municipality in ⁧‫wilayat of Qurayat‬⁩ closed one of the restaurants in the wilayat. This was due to its violation of the municipality’s health requirements related to food safety and public health. ‎

Muscat Municipality added: “The necessary legal procedures will be implemented against the restaurant."
