Manah: Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, and his spouse today visited “Oman Across Ages Museum” in the wilayat of Manah, Governorate of A'Dakhiliyah, as part of their official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
The guest was received by Eng. Al Yaqdhan Abdullah Al Harthi, Director General of the Museum, and a number of officials.
The president and his spouse went on tour of the museum’s divisions and listened to a briefing about the facility’s design informed by the rugged topography of Al Hajar Mountains. They toured the History Hall and the Renaissance Hall that present interactive, symbolic value to the visitors.
They also took note of antiques and manuscripts that demonstrate the depth and authenticity of Omani history. They were also briefed about modern interactive technologies that characterize the museum and the services that the museum provides for visitors of different segments.
At the conclusion of their visit, Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his spouse signed the Senior Visitor’s Register, expressing their thanks for the hospitality accorded to them, and describing Oman as a “country of rich history and prosperous future”.
The German President was accompanied during the visit by Nasr Hamoud Al Kindi, Secretary General of the Royal Court Affairs, Chairman of Board of Trustees of Oman Across Ages Museum, Eng. Said Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (Head of the Mission of Honour), Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, among other officials.
