Muscat: The Ministry of Social Development and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) today held a preparatory workshop during which they discussed the 4th national report of the “Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW)”.
The ministry is represented by the Department of Women’s Affairs at the two-day workshop, which focuses on Oman’s experience in drafting and elaborating on international reports.
Emphasis is laid on preparing specialists to present Oman’s fourth national CEDAW report before the International Committee on Women.
The session was attended by Sayyida Maani Abdullah Al Busaidi, Director General of Family Development at the Social Development Ministry, members of the CEDAW and experts specialized in preparing and discussing international reports.
