Event for welfare of handicapped in Muscat

Muscat: Oman’s Association for the Welfare of handicapped children will be hosting a fundraising event at Bahja Hall next to Qurum Park from August 2 to 4 from 10 am to 10 pm.
The sponsors of the event include Al Raffd Fund, Bank Sohar, Alilac Beauty Center, Techpoint and Omantel.
As an NGO, the association relies on donations from businesses, the public sector and individuals to pay for their expenses.
The services provided by the association include children’s rehabilitative services, as well as teaching children self-dependence and self-reliance, in addition to teaching them basic educational principles, such as English, Quran, and Math. Additionally, the NGO trains and educates parents about how to work with their children on a day to
day basis.
The association is spread over 11 centres, including four in Muscat, two in Al Aziaiba, one in Al Khoud and one in Quraiat, three in Al Batinah, one in Barkha, one in Al Musannah, one in Yanqul, one in Dhank, and one in Jalan Bani Bu Hassan. The association serves 450 children from 5-14 years old who suffer from a variety of disabilities.
