OMR79 million in real estate deals in just five days

Muscat: A total of OMR79 million in real estate deals were made from July 15 to 19 this year, according to data released by Oman’s Ministry of Housing.
The ministry confirmed through a statement on Twitter that the highest number of sales transactions took place in the Governorate of Muscat, followed by the Governorate of North Al Batinah.
Nearly OMR1.5 billion in real estate deals were made during the first half of 2018, according to a senior official at the Ministry of Housing.
Abdullah bin Salim Al-Mukhaini, Secretary of the Real Estate Registry at the ministry, revealed that real estate activity during the first half of the current year amounted to more than OMR1,413,645,000. Fees collected grew by 3 per cent to OMR43,968,000 this year compared with the same period in 2017.
At the governorate level, a total of 208,966 real estate transactions were recorded in the first half of 2018, of which, 39,687 transactions were registered in the Muscat governorate, 11,169 in Dhofar, 31,459 in South Al Batinah, 43,619 in North Al Batinah, 13,090 in South Al Sharqiyah, 16,110 North Al Sharqiyah, 27,932 in Al Dakhiliyah, 17,003 in Al Dhahira, 4,389 in Al Buraimi, 1,658 in Musandam, and 2,850 in Al Wusta.
The number of title deeds issued in the Sultanate rose by 25 per cent to 144,677 during the same period, compared with the 115,910 title deeds issued in 2017.
