Moscow: The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the Russian Federation held a reception in Moscow on the occasion of the 53rd National Day.
Hamoud Salim Al Tuwaih, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Russian Federation, head of the mission, delivered a speech in which he outlined various aspects of the friendly Omani-Russian relations. He stressed the permanent nature of Omani policy, which, he said, is based on well-founded principles.
On the sidelines of the reception, models of Omani costumes and traditional women’s jewellery were displayed.
The event saw the distribution of Omani books and publications that highlight the country’s history, accomplishments and relations with countries of the world. The exhibits included tourist brochures that reflect Oman’s march of development and progress in various fields.
The ceremony was attended by Mikhail Bogdanov, Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Konstantin Kosachev, Vice Chairman of the Russian Federation Council, and Senator Mohammed Akhmedov, member of the Russian Federation Council, officials from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassadors of Arab and friendly countries from Asia, Europe and Africa, Russian government officials, intellectuals, academics, media professionals in Moscow, Russian businessmen and a number of Omani citizens and students studying in the Russian Federation.
