Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Culture is renovating Zanzibar’s famed ‘House of Wonders’.
The announcement was made online, with the authority tweeting, "The Ministry of Heritage and Culture launched the first phase of the comprehensive renovation and rehabilitation of the ‘House of Wonders’ in Zanzibar, a landmark site in the World Heritage List."
The monument, called Bait Al Ajaib in Arabic, was originally a palace built by the second sultan of Zanzibar, Barghash bin Said. It currently houses a museum, besides other attractions.
