Oman celebrates Renaissance Day 48th Anniversary

Muscat: The Sultanate on Monday celebrated the 48th Anniversary of the Blessed Renaissance (23rd July) march, which kicked off under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
The 23rd of July 1970 has been the beginning of the glorious era for a better life for citizens across the Sultanate, which enabled them contribute to the development objectives of the country.
Since then dawn of the Blessed Renaissance, Oman has started a new era of development and progress in all fields. His Majesty the Sultan has since day one of the Blessed Renaissance made sure that the Omani citizens, mainly the youth, are the cornerstone in terms of development and progress.
This, no doubt, made the Omani citizens the core of the Royal care of His Majesty the Sultan and the target for all efforts and national development plans and programmes across the 48 years, covering the spheres of education, health, social development, training and culture.
Throughout the 48 years, the determination of His Majesty the Sultan and the alliance and sincerity of citizens since the dawn of the Blessed Renaissance has yielded its fruits in each and every part of the country.
During the meeting of the Council of Ministers held in February, His Majesty the Sultan expressed his comfort over the efforts extended by the Government which led to achievement of high rate of growth and praised the cooperation of citizens in the success of development plans and programmes.
To this end, a joint meeting between the Council of Ministers and the State Council and Majlis Al Shura, was held last May.
The meeting stressed the significance of constructive dialogue among the state executive and parliamentary institutions in order to reach visions which help execution of the development plans and programmes at higher rates of performance.
All round development
Meanwhile, Sheikh Ali bin Nasser Al Mahrooqi, Secretary General of Majlis Al Shura reaffirmed that the 48th anniversary of the Blessed Renaissance represented a turning point in the lives of citizens and the development of the Sultanate.
He added that the development has been witnessed in all walks of life in the Sultanate.
On the occasion of the celebrations of the Blessed Renaissance, he sent his greetings to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, praying to the Almighty Allah to grant His Majesty the Sultan good health, happiness and a long life and to return this occasion on His Majesty the Sultan, the Omani people and the country with further achievements and progress.

Sheikh Khalid bin Omar Said Al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service has sent his sincere greetings and wishes to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, praying to the Almighty Allah to protect His Majesty the Sultan and grant him good health , happiness and a long life.
In a statement, he said that the anniversary of July 23rd is a national and historic event for all Omanis.
July 23rd has paved the way for the comprehensive development march which transformed Oman into a modern country, thanks to the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
