Muscat: The Royal Oman Police has arrested several infiltrators across the Sultanate of Oman for theft and attempting to smuggle large quantities of drugs.
Four people arrested for theft
A person has been arrested in North Al Batinah Governorate on charge of stealing a vehicle, and other three arrested in Al Dakhiliyah for stealing iron.
Royal Oman Police said: “After a monitoring and tracking operation, the North Al Batinah Governorate Police Command arrested a person on charges of stealing a vehicle from Muscat Governorate, and legal procedures are being completed against him.”
Al Dakhiliyah Governorate Police Command arrested three people of Asian nationality on charges of stealing four tons of iron from a house under construction, and completed legal procedures against them.
Smuggling attempt busted
The Coast Guard Police in Muscat Governorate arrested three people of Asian nationality while they were trying to smuggle more than 55 kilograms of hashish, 16 kilograms of crystal meth, and 4,000 psychotropic pills, and legal procedures are being completed against them.
Overseas criminal case
As part of joint cooperation between the Royal Oman Police and the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate Police Command arrested a person of Asian nationality wanted by his country in a criminal case.
