Bush’s former doctor fatally shot in Houston

A cardiologist who treated former U.S. President George H.W. Bush was shot and killed while riding a bike in Houston on Friday.

Authorities say Dr. Mark Hausknecht was riding his bike on Friday morning when another man on a bike opened fire, killing the 65-year-old doctor.

Police say Hausknecht flagged down a passing ambulance for help and was taken to hospital where he later died.

Investigators are trying to work out if the shooting was random or targeted.
