Muscat: Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Nadabi, Secretary General of Majlis Al Shura, said that the content of the Royal speech of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on the occasion of the convening of the Majlis Al Shura represents an unambiguous roadmap for the features of the upcoming stage for the Sultanate of Oman in general and for the Council of Oman in particular.
The Royal speech of His Majesty the Sultan has tackled various fields, including national plans and aspirations of Oman Vision 2040 and sets roadmap for employing the same for achievement of further development in the Sultanate of Oman and prosperity of citizens, he added.
Council of Oman
He said that His Majesty has said that the Council of Oman has played a great role in the past, besides the initiatives of its members have been represented in strenthgening the base for the Council of Oman during its tenth term.
He said that the Royal speech stressed the necessity of exerting due efforts in terms of diversification of the sources of national income and making comprehensive efforts targeting all sectors of society for achieving Oman Vision 2040 and increasing the efficiency of the government coupled with boosting the role of the local community through expansion of decentralisation in the governorates.
He said that the Majlis is inspired by the Royal speech of His Majesty the Sultan and in due course will work during the tenth term in line with Oman Vision 2040 to seek further achievements, development and prosperity in the Sultanate of Oman.
