Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman revealed the details of its participation in the “Expo 2025 OSAKA - Japan” exhibition, which is scheduled to be held from April 13 to October 13, 2025.
This came during an event held today at the Embassy of Oman in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, to announce the Sultanate of Oman’s participation in this global event, in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Said bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture and Commissioner-General of the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at the “Expo 2025 OSAKA - Japan” exhibition, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al Busaidi, the accredited ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Japan, and a number of Their Excellencies, ambassadors of friendly and brotherly countries.
His Excellency the Commissioner General of the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at Expo 2025 Japan - OSAKA said in his speech that the Sultanate of Oman’s participation in Expo 2025 OSAKA - Japan - under the slogan “Designing the future society for our lives” - reflects its permanent commitment to interacting with the world, promoting cultural exchange, and its tireless endeavor to present a true image of its ancient heritage, its authentic present, and sustainable development to build a future based on the spirit of innovation and development.
His Excellency added that the Sultanate of Oman pays special attention to the goals of sustainable development, and seeks, through Expo 2025 OSAKA, to have the countries of the world participate in achieving these goals, which are represented in the three sub-axes of this Expo, which are ensuring the sustainability of life, improving life, and enhancing life through communication.
His Excellency stressed that the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at Expo 2025 OSAKA has a unique architectural design that reflects the Omani environment, its ancient history and its future aspirations. It also reflects the Sultanate of Oman’s interest in the Omani and its pride in its heritage and civilization, in an innovative way.
It is worth noting that the design of Oman’s pavilion at Expo 2025 is one of the outcomes of the Bilarab Bin Haitham Award for Architectural Design and an emphasis on the continued interest in Omani architecture and the need for it to be reflected in the Sultanate of Oman’s global participations.
For his part, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al Busaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Japan, said that the Sultanate of Oman’s participation in Expo 2025 OSAKA will contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, adding that this participation is an excellent opportunity to introduce the future visions of the Sultanate of Oman in all fields.
The event included a visual presentation on the design of the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at Expo 2025 OSAKA and its visual identity, during which Bayan Bint Muslim Al Ramadani explained the architectural idea for the pavilion’s design.
Al Ramadani said that the design of the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at Expo 2025 was inspired by the natural and topographic diversity of the Sultanate of Oman, and reflects the Omani’s adaptation to and coexistence with nature and the surrounding environment, and its impact on man’s cultural and civilizational heritage. This is clearly evident in the details of the architectural design, which focuses on three main contents: land, water, and people.
Al Ramadani added that the external space of the pavilion was designed to provide a space for sitting and interacting with the facade of the pavilion, which consists of a number of curved architectural elements inspired by the wonderful terrain of Oman.
