Dialogue is a key principle and method in Oman’s foreign policy

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman is committed to a foreign policy grounded in the principles of cooperation and understanding, serving as a bridge for communication on the global stage.

Oman believes in fostering international relations based on mutual respect and shared interests, recognising the need for active participation in global organisations and conferences amid the complex challenges facing the world today.

In response to evolving conditions in regional and international arenas, the Sultanate reiterates maintaining balanced stances on various issues.

The Sultanate's foreign policy has been instrumental in finding resolutions to regional challenges, notably contributing to reduction in tensions and facilitating peace negotiations in conflicts such as Yemen and the Iran nuclear dossier.

His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, in presiding over the Council of Ministers' meeting on October 10, reiterated Oman's solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The Sultanate supports efforts to de-escalate conflicts, prevent attacks on children and innocent civilians, and advocates for the release of prisoners in accordance with international law. Oman actively provides humanitarian aid, relief, and supports peace initiatives in the Palestinian cause.

Addressing the Syrian crisis, Oman has played a significant role in providing humanitarian aid and supporting affected populations. The Sultanate encourages dialogue among involved parties to achieve peaceful solutions.

During the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on September 24, Oman reaffirmed the centrality of dialogue as a key principle and method in its foreign policy.

Oman recently chaired the 155th session of the AGCC Ministerial Council, emphasising the AGCC's approach to supporting peace, security, and stability in the region. The Sultanate aims to contribute to comprehensive development and prosperity for all.

Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister, reaffirmed Oman's commitment to resolving various issues and conflicts through the principle of dialogue. He highlighted the strong relations the Sultanate maintains with Arab, regional, and international countries.
