Muscat: Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate, has launched the second batch of its First Time Managers program, further demonstrating its commitment to the development of Omani human resources. Recognizing that its achievements are powered by proficient employees, the bank aims to enhance the management skills of its staff, enabling them to effectively handle their day-to-day responsibilities and facilitate their transition to higher roles.
A total of 32 participants from the bank's talent pool are taking part in the program, which combines workshops and online modules from Harvard Business Publishing. These resources are designed to help participants reinforce their skills. Notably, 44 employees from the first batch successfully completed the program in May 2023.
Speaking on the occasion, Said Salim Al Aufi, General Manager - Human Resources & Administration at Bank Muscat, emphasized the bank's belief in the pivotal role of its employees in maintaining its leading position and sustained growth. Al Aufi expressed hope that these development programs would equip talented employees with the necessary skills to progress in their careers and tackle new challenges. He also congratulated the employees who had completed the program and wished the new batch success in their journey, while reaffirming the bank's commitment to providing world-class learning and development opportunities.
In addition to the First Time Managers program, Bank Muscat continues to make positive contributions to the development of human resources. Recently, the bank organized a seminar on Intelligent Leadership, which saw the participation of over 120 employees. Furthermore, as part of its High Potential Graduate Development program, the bank celebrated the enrollment of 57 employees from various business units in two new batches.
Bank Muscat's comprehensive Learning and Development department, known as Jadara Academy, is affiliated with the Global Association of Corporate Universities and Academics. The department focuses on developing skills and capabilities through e-Learning modules, scholarships, professional certifications, and management and leadership training programs. Human resource development is a priority for the bank, with a substantial budget allocation across all functions. Training and development programs are conducted through specialized educational courses offered by accredited training centers, as well as through academic partnerships with colleges, universities, and leading training institutes at regional and global levels.
These training courses cater to all employees, including new hires who undergo intensive programs. They cover essential topics such as modern methods of customer service, business ethics, professional communication skills, and the importance of assuming responsibilities while adhering to the highest standards of compliance and integrity.
