Muscat: In order to promote the concept of entrepreneurship among community members and implement plans to develop the skills of entrepreneurs small and medium-sized enterprises, Bank Muscat, the leading financial service provider in the Sultanate of Oman, celebrated the graduation of 46 entrepreneurs in Duqm, Al Wusta Governorate within Al Wathba Academy program, in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority.
The participants successfully completed a training program that covered lectures, workshops, discussions and practical training on a number of specialized fields in the business sector such as management, finance, marketing, and others.
This ceremony marks the continuation of the successful Al Wathba Academy program over the past years and confirms Bank Muscat's commitment to provide training programmes that contribute to the development of entrepreneurs’ skills in various governorates of the Sultanate. Earlier this year, the bank signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority to launch this programme for entrepreneurs in Al Wusta, in cooperation with Radiant Sail. Trainees received an internationally recognized certificate from the Knowledgeworks institution. Bank Muscat will continue implementing plans for the development of small and medium enterprises.
On this occasion, Ibrahim bin Khamis Al Balushi, Senior Assistant General Manager, SMEs, Bank Muscat, extended congratulations to all the graduates for their commitment during the training period. He said: “We are proud to see such a big number of participants in a single batch which shows how keen are the people here to benefit from training programs. Al Wathba program come within the bank’s efforts to reinforce its pioneering position as a socially responsible bank in the field of entrepreneurship. Bank Muscat will continue to implement such programs taking in new batches of entrepreneurs with a focus on choosing courses that keep pace with the latest developments required by the business sector.”
Bank Muscat is proud of its track record of success and support for young Omani entrepreneurs who benefited from al Wathba program and are now efficiently running their own projects. Over the past years a number of 237 Omani entrepreneurs have successfully completed the program from different governorates of the Sultanate. Also, it is a matter of pride that Bank Muscat has contributed significantly to the development of SMEs in Oman, which have greatly succeeded in providing more jobs for Omani youth.
