Muscat: The Council of Arab Health Ministers warned of the catastrophic humanitarian and health repercussions of the continuation of the genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the continuation of attacks targeting them in the vicinity of treatment centers and hospitals, the targeting of medical teams, shelters and residential buildings, and the destruction of infrastructure.

The Council also warned, in a statement issued today, regarding the health and humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip following an extraordinary session held via video conference, of the continued imposition of restrictions in Gaza Strip on the basic components and resources of life, such as water and the entry of medicines, electricity and fuel, which leads to disastrous loss of life among civilians.

The statement stressed the need to immediately stop the war on Gaza Strip, expressing its condemnation of the ongoing war crimes and brutal massacres in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the death of more than 8,720 martyrs and more than 22,000 wounded, the majority of whom were children, women and the elderly, at a rate of 73%, and the destruction of more than 177,781 housing units, in addition to hundreds of missing people.

The statement called on the international community to assume its responsibilities to stop these brutal massacres and open safe and sustainable humanitarian corridors to ensure the access and flow of humanitarian and relief aid, to alleviate the burden of the humanitarian catastrophe suffered by the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, in implementation and respect for the rules of international humanitarian law, and to stop double standards and pressure.

The occupying force must lift the siege on the Gaza Strip, protect civilians, health teams, health facilities, shelters and places of worship, and immediately and urgently allow the entry of fuel into hospitals, health centers and ambulances.

The statement praised the heroic steadfastness provided by the medical teams in the Gaza Strip in light of the brutal Israeli aggression and the great challenges they face, stressing support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land and warning against any attempts to displace them outside it.
