Muscat: French football star Paul Pogba dedicated his country's 1-0 victory over Belgium to the group of 13 footballers who were recently rescued from a cave in northern Thailand.
The midfielder, who played a crucial role in guiding his country to the 2018 World Cup Final, wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday, "This victory goes to the heroes of the day, well done boys, you are so strong. My thoughts are with the boys in Thailand."

Pogba was referencing the 'Wild Boar' amateur football team, whose 12 players and coach were trapped in the Tham Luong cave complex in the norther Thai province of Chiang Rai. Aged between 11 and 16, the team and their 25 year-old coach became trapped on June 23rd when the cave they were exploring was flooded by seasonal rains.
The entire team and their coach were rescued by a team of 90 expert divers from around the world on Tuesday.
