Muscat: The tropical condition Tej has been downgraded to a tropical depression with estimated wind speeds around the centre ranging between 17 and 27 knots, and will gradually dissipate within the next 12 hours, Oman Meteorology said.
"The coastal, mountainous and parts of desert areas of Dhofar Governorate will continue witnessing rainfall ranging between 20 and 60 mm with expected flash floods and fresh blowing winds (17-27) knots."
"The sea is expected to be moderate to rough with wave heights ranging between (2 - 4) m on the Arabian Sea coastline. The influence of the tropical condition is expected to gradually dissipate tonight."
The Civil Aviation Authority advises all to take maximum precautions and not to risk crossing wadis and to avoid low - lying areas. It is also advised to avoid venturing out to sea during this period.
