Video: Citizen arrested for firing gun behind group of praying men

Muscat: Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested an Omani national for shooting a traditional rifle behind a group of Omani citizens while they were performing prayer.

In a video clip of the incident that was shared by the police, the suspect can be seen slowly walking towards the group and then shooting into the air to scare them.

“Referring to the circulated video clip of a citizen shooting behind a praying group, Royal Oman Police clarifies that it arrested the citizen and the necessary legal procedures are being taken to refer him to the judiciary authorities,” ROP said in an online statement on its account on Twitter.
