Muscat: His Excellency the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning confirmed that the general completion rate of cash compensation disbursed to citizens whose properties were affected by the Al Batinah Coastal Road Project in the North Al Batinah Governorate has reached 90.4 percent. The percentage of completion in in-kind compensation amounted to 93.2 percent.
His Excellency told Oman News Agency that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning coordinated with the relevant authorities to complete the project for the remaining cases, estimated at 379 cases, with an amount of OMR 52 million. Continuing to achieve sustainable urban development for prosperous communities.
His Excellency added that the project contributes to achieving a number of objectives, which are: treating and developing existing urban sites along the coast, exploiting sites with natural features that distinguish them, developing them according to their components and capabilities, creating tourist sites and comprehensive development along the coastal strip, and connecting coastal villages and complexes. And the surrounding areas, avoiding damage resulting from the phenomenon of beach erosion, and preserving buildings and facilities located on the waterfront.
The project's first phase consists of two parts, the first from Al Naseem Interchange in the Wilayat of Barka to Al Suwaiq Port, with a length of 66 km, while the second part begins from Sohar Port to Khatmat Milaha, with a length of 67 km.
