His Majesty calls for integrated Sports City project in Oman

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, on Wednesday, instructed government authorities to begin procedures for establishing an integrated Sports City project to attract and host regional and global tournaments and competitions, the Oman News Agency reported.

His Majesty presided over a meeting of the Council of Ministers at Al Barakah Palace on Wednesday and made certain announcements which show the care accorded to youth. His Majesty further directed the development of infrastructure for camel racing, which is among Oman's major sporting activities, enjoying wide engagement of citizens. This would be achieved through rehabilitation and establishing main racecourses in governorates.

Further, His Majesty underscored the importance of all citizens' serious participation in the Shura Council's elections and ensuring the selection of conscientious competencies to benefit from their expertise in the Council.
