Muscat: Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister met with Gabrielius Landsbergis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.
This meeting was held on the sidelines of the 27th session of the Joint GCC-EU Ministerial Council in Muscat.
The meeting reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries. It also explored various aspects of cooperation and means of promoting them particularly in areas of tourism and economic cooperation, renewable energy, agriculture, port logistics. The meeting also witnessed signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the tourism field.
Gabrielius Landsbergis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania said that the MoU aims at promoting cooperation in the tourism field between the two sides and discussing the potential of operating a direct airline connecting the two countries.
This step, he added, would contribute at enhancing cooperation through the flow of tourists and businessmen between the two countries.
In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), the minister affirmed the deep, bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Lithuania. These relations, he said, witness a rapid growth in all fields. He pointed out that the Sultanate of Oman considered a main partner for his country in the region.
The meeting was attended by Munthir Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Head of Europe Department and officials from both sides. -ONA
