Muscat: Oxy Oman celebrated the graduation of 130 engineers and geoscientists from the company’s engineering and geoscientists fresh graduates development programme.

The three-year programme provides new technical fresh graduate hires with curricula and courses designed to enhance their technical skills and expertise as they begin their careers at Oxy Oman.

The event was held under the auspices of Mohsin Hamad Al Hadhrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.

It was attended by Steven Lauver, President and General Manager at Oxy Oman, along with other senior representatives of Oxy Oman and the programme’s graduates.
Oxy Oman has developed and implemented a long-term Human Resources strategy focusing on sustainable hiring and development of its human capital.

Over 25 specialists from the company’s various departments contribute to the preparation of the fresh graduates programme, and 80 employees are supported in implementing and supervising the programme under the supervision of the Learning and Development Department.

Oxy Oman’s hiring strategy has been in line with the Omani government’s aim to provide diversified employment opportunities and training for Omani youth seeking employment,” said Steven Lauver, President and General Manager of Oxy Oman.

“We are proud that our long-term hiring strategy has contributed to generating more than 3,600 direct employment opportunities and resulted in 95 percent Omanisation of Oxy Oman’s workforce,” he added.
