Oman's tourism promotional workshops in GCC a grand success

Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, concluded a successful mobile promotional workshops it organised to introduce and promote the heritage and tourism components of the Sultanate of Oman in the Gulf market. The workshops were launched in the State of Kuwait, passing through Qatar and Bahrain.

The event was held in the presence of Sheikh Salem bin Muslim Al Kathiri, Head of the Sultanate of Oman Commercial Office in Dubai.

The promotional workshops in the Gulf market were organised as part of the Ministry's tourism strategy to market the Sultanate of Oman as a heritage, beach, mountain and cultural destinations, as well as promoting adventure tourism, which is gaining momentum around the world.

The Ministry is also working with tourism stakeholders to establish new relationships and contacts with holiday service providers from emerging markets, in addition to introducing new tourism and heritage projects and important tourist destinations.

Participants in the promotional workshops praised the success of the event and the efforts made to advance the tourism sector in the Sultanate of Oman.

The participating tourism companies and institutions presented various services and tourism programmes to the visitors, in addition to reviewing the services and offers they provide.

Many meetings were held to discuss ways to enhance integration and partnership in various tourism fields in order to enhance the competitiveness of the sector.

In this regard, Abbas Al Farsi, Atana Hotels Sales Manager, said: "Our participation in promotional workshops with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in several Gulf cities comes as part of the Ministry’s efforts to enhance the travel market and the related sector, and we hope that these participations will continue to have positive impact on tourism sector. We are betting on the Gulf market because it is the largest market exporting tourists to the Sultanate of Oman, and these events are considered a favourable opportunity due to a large presence of Gulf companies and travel agents in them."

Mohammed Al Habsi, Chief Business Developer and Responsible for the GCC Market at the National Travel Operator “VisitOman”, expressed his happiness with VisitOman’s participation in the promotional workshops in the GCC markets.

He said: "The aim of these campaigns was to attract more tourists from the Gulf market through tour operators and travel agencies in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The Ministry held promotional workshops in Kuwait, Doha, Bahrain and the UAE with the participation of various tourism sector partners from the Sultanate of Oman. During these workshops, VisitOman had the opportunity to showcase the Visitoman.om platform, which is a digital tool for booking tourism services in the Sultanate of Oman."

He explained: “The Visitoman.om website offers a wide range of tourism services, including transportation, accommodation, tours, excursions, and facilities suitable for institutions and companies.”

Moataz bin Muslim Saleh Al Maawali, Head of Operations and Logistics Department at Safari International Travel & Tourism Company, noted: "The workshops gave us the opportunity to present our tourism services in the Sultanate of Oman at Global Safari Travel & Tourism and develop relationships between us and tourism companies interested in promoting Omani tourism.”

"The Sultanate of Oman is distinguished by its natural beauty and rich history, which attracts tourists from various countries. Our company provides a mixture of different services to tourists, including: hotel accommodation, tourist trips, tourist guidance, camping and fishing services, and others," he confirmed .

He added: "We look forward to participating in the upcoming workshops and hope to be an active partner in the progress and success of tourism in the Sultanate of Oman in the coming years."
