Nizwa: People responsible for tourism in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries on Wednesday visited the historic Nizwa Fort on the sidelines of the seventh meeting of tourism agents in the GCC countries.
They were briefed on the building and facilities of the citadel, which is the largest defence tower in the Arabian Peninsula and is distinguished by its narrow corridors and defensive positions, the citadel with its artistic architecture, and the numerous halls such as the gallery, the study rooms.
They also viewed the facilities accompanying the castle and listened to an explanation about the history of the castle and its role throughout successive eras.
