Muscat: Embassy of India in Oman marked the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi by paying tribute to the legacy of the Father of the Nation.
In a event held at the Embassy premises, Amit Narang, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman, offered floral tributes to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, followed by members of the Indian community and Embassy officers.
The gathering came together to honour the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, who continues to inspire generations worldwide with his philosophy of non-violence, truth, and social justice.
The floral tribute was accompanied by the resonating melodies of bhajans, adding a harmonious touch to the occasion.
Speaking to the media, Ambassador Amit Narang emphasised the relevance of Gandhi’s principles, stating, “Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings remain as pertinent today as they were during his time. As we celebrate his birth anniversary, we also celebrate the values that guide us toward a more just and peaceful world.”
This year’s celebration held special significance as it marked the first anniversary of the installation of the Mahatma Gandhi statue on the Embassy premises.
