Muscat: The 10th edition of the Digital Transformation Conference, which was held in Muscat today, underlined the importance of empowering institutions operating in the marketing, banking, oil and gas sectors to adopt integrated digital solutions and keep pace with developments in this field.
The conference, organised by United Media Services Company, also highlighted an array of topics about artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, information technology (IT), and the growth of e-commerce, in addition to technology and cyberspace in the future.
Dr. Salim Sultan Al Ruzaiqi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Information Technology Society, said, “The conference focused on the digital transformation programme, modern technologies and artificial intelligence.”
He pointed out that the conference reviewed some technologies and their impact on digital transformation in institutions, such as the economic impact and augmenting productivity in private sector establishments.
He added that the transformation brought about by technology in all fields has a fundamental impact on the digital transformation in the Sultanate of Oman. This transformation, he said, has an economic and technical basis, thus good preparation is a must for the future in terms of qualifying national cadres, changing specialisations, and qualifying employees.
