​Expat workers in Oman arrested for fishing method violations

Muscat: A number of expatriate workers have been arrested by authorities for fishing with forbidden nets.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries said in a statement online, "The fishing control team in the governorates of North and South Al Batinah, in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police, managed to arrest a number of expatriate workers fishing using forbidden nets. The necessary legal measures have been taken."

"The Ministry appreciates citizens' cooperation in reporting any violations of the Living Water Resources Law," the statement added.
